Activities of the Welcome Centre

 

Invitation to the Christmas Get-Together

2011 has been a successful year for the Welcome Centre and we wish to celebrate this together with all of you. Join us for our Christmas get-together at the Welcome Centre on Wednesday, Dec. 21 st , from 5 to 7 pm. Get in touch with German Christmas traditions! We are offering Glühwein (with/without alcohol), traditional German Christmas songs and Lebkuchen and Plätzchen.

When: Wednesday, December 21, 5:00 – 7:00 PM
Where: Welcome Centre

Retirement of Nikolas Kretzschmar

Dear International Guests at the FAU,

I’d cordially like to thank you for the outstanding collaboration and for the confidence you had in me over the last two years. Unfortunately, my limited work contract with the university will finish at the end of the year. As I have to spend my annual holiday beforehand, I will already leave the Welcome Centre on December 2nd 2011.
I hope you have been satisfied with the support and I wish you all the best for your stay at FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg.
I would like to thank you for the marvelous intercultural experience and the lovely spirit you showed to me.

The Central Institute o rganizes interdisciplinary lectures and colloquia, which focus on current and historic regions. The different sections (North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, Franconia and Middle East) offer a variety of events in German and English during the winter semester 2011/2012 .

Bicycle Auction


A good possibility to buy a used bicycle is the upcoming bicycle auction organised by the city of Erlangen.

VHS Club International Erlangen

The international club is a communication and meeting centre for internationals and Germans. If you learn German or a foreign language, you can find native speakers and also learn about their respective countries and cultures.

Silvestival – New Year’s Eve in Nuremberg's City centre

The Silvestival is Nuremberg's New Year’s Eve celebration event. 20 music groups of all styles will play during this big event at several locations in the center of the city.
